Find out what your ‘treasures’ are worth “What’s It Worth Day” is a chance to have your potential antiques and collector’s items appraised by the professionals. It takes place 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 6-7 at the Scottsdale Marketplace, 6310 N. Scottsdale Road (at Lincoln). Bring your: antiques and decorative arts; Japanese, Chinese and Korean items; American & European fine arts; and American Indian jewelry, basketry, textiles, beadwork, pottery, paintings and sculpture for professional appraisers to specify their approximate values. These appraisers have more than 100 years of combined experience. Donation per appraised item is $25 for the first item, $20 for additional items. Payment to be made to the Arizona Society for the Importance of Animals, a 501 (3) (c) nonprofit whose mission statement concerns the assistance of abandoned cats (meeting their medical needs and placing them in responsible, loving, permanent homes). Workshop to help you Network to find a job As the job market continues to grow more challenging, job seekers are looking for any edge they can get. One company, Executives Network (executivesnetwork.com), is doing what it can to help executive-level job seekers find a new director-, vice president- or c-level position by offering networking meetings and workshops. Youth troupe offers ‘Children of Eden’ Greasepaint Youtheatre presents the musical, “Children of Eden,” Dec. 5-21. With a score was penned by Broadway’s “Wicked” composer, Stephen Schwartz, “Children of Eden” is a frank, heartfelt and humorous examination of the age-old conflict between parents and children. Freely based on the story of Genesis, “Children of Eden” takes us from Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden to Noah and his Ark. Tickets are $17.50. Performances are Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 7 p.m. and Sundays 2 p.m. at the Stagebrush Theatre, located at 7020 E. Dollars come off the wall at Rusty Spur The owners of the Rusty Spur Saloon, Scottsdale’s last real cowboy saloon, where the party never ends and the charity begins, will host its Sixth Annual “Money Comes Off the Wall Event” on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. Dollar bills are collected all year, placed on the walls among the unique Western memorabilia, and donated to a local charity each December. Come on down, enjoy live music, add a dollar or two to the walls, and enter the drawing to guess the amount to be donated! Proceeds benefit River of Dreams, a nonprofit organization, which provides outdoor adventure opportunities for youth and teens with and without disabilities. Bargains abound at SCC book sale Attention book lovers! It's time for Scottsdale Community College's annual used book sale. Some of the best holiday deals in town will be found at the SCC library Dec. 4-12. Books on all topics will be up for sale at this annual library fundraising event. Most items are priced from .50 cents to $10. All funds raised at the sale will be used in support of the library. Sale items include: videos, paperback books, and hardcover books. The library accepts cash and personal checks, but not credit cards. ale hours are 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
