ArtWalk visitors can experience ‘Love Buttons’
“Love Buttons” is artist Gregory Sale’s more literal approach to wearing your heart on your sleeve. Sale initiates the process by going public with private text on campaign-style buttons.
Yours might say You under-punctuate m.e, or beauti-fully, or RADIATE. You might notice somebody else is wearing the same button or a mate to your button; or two people may decide to exchange different buttons with one another.
The interactive art project, commissioned by Scottsdale Public Art/Scottsdale Cultural Council, will be on display—and handed out—7-9 p.m. July 10 at the Lisa Sette Gallery, 4142 N. Marshall Way, as part of the Summer Spectacular ArtWalk. Love Buttons is multi-authored with assistance from a loose collective of poets and Spork Press in Tucson, Ariz. The event is free to the public.
